It is a type of sales promotion that marketers use primarily as an incentive or supplements to product sales. The mail-in rebate is the most common.

Many organizations offer Product Rebates to homeowners who purchase various types of energy-efficient, renewable energy, and water-efficient products. These organizations may include:

• Utility providers.
• Product manufacturers.

The County Of Los Angeles administers the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) to bring together a wide variety of services with one common goal: achieving unprecedented levels of energy savings throughout Southern California.

Authorized in 2012 by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), Southern California Regional Energy Network offers a wide range of resources and useful information about energy efficiency programs to homeowners interested in making energy efficiency improvements throughout the areas served by Southern California Edison_® (SCE), Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power (LADWP), and SoCalGas_®.

The programs and services offered by SoCalREN have led to more than $4 Million in rebates paid to homeowners who made energy efficiency upgrades. These upgrades were installed in 7,330 multi-family units throughout Southern California.

Energy Upgrade California® is a statewide initiative committed to uniting Californians in striving toward reaching the state’s energy conservation goals.

The Energy Upgrade California Program serves as a one-stop shop for California homeowners who want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. This program connects homeowners with qualified contractors, and helps homeowners find all the available incentives from their local utilities and local governments. The program is available statewide and is managed locally by utilities and regional energy networks.

Energy Upgrade California assists homeowners with rebates and incentives and offers two Upgrade Options a homeowner can choose from:

• The Basic Home Upgrade Package.
• The Advanced Home Upgrade Package.

Some examples of product rebates from Energy Upgrade California may include:

• $25 - $50 rebate on energy-efficient washers.
• $50 - $125 rebate on smart thermostats.
• $100 - $200 rebate on water heaters.

Moreover, Burbank Water And Power offers homeowners a generous Home Improvement Program designed to improve the comfort and energy efficiency of their homes with no out-of-pocket costs. The products and services offered through this program are 100% paid for by BWP and the Southern California Gas Company. You may be eligible for some or all of these products and services.

BWP offers additional programs to homeowners such as:
